Fraudsters are currently trying to use the mobile.de Online-Kauf service to deceive potential buyers. The fraudster disguises himself as a private seller offering a vehicle on mobile.de. If a prospective buyer contacts them, they claim that the vehicle has been purchased from mobile.de and is now being offered in the Online-Kauf service. A link is sent as confirmation: This is supposed to lead to the offer on mobile.de. In reality, the link leads to a fraudulent website that looks like mobile.de but has a slightly different URL. Here the fraudsters try to get the prospective buyer to pay the price or make a down payment. If the prospective buyer agrees, the money is gone!
Important: In Online-Kauf, no vehicles are offered by private sellers! If an alleged seller claims otherwise, you should break off contact and report the ad by clicking on ‘Report this listing’.
If you are interested in buying online, do not click on a link sent to you! Simply enter 'mobile.de' in your browser and then click on 'Online purchase' under 'Search'.
