mobee: mobile.de AI Assistant – Legal Notice

  1. What is mobee?

    mobee, our mobile.de AI assistant, answers your questions about cars and our services and helps you to find the car that suits you best. You can ask mobee general questions about cars and mobility or insert specific search queries, e.g:

    "Show me red BMW convertibles in Cologne up to €10,000"

    Our AI assistant offers you appropriate support and translates your requests into search criteria, finds suitable vehicles for you and shows you advertisements that match your request.

    mobee generates the content using artificial intelligence (AI) based on the use of so-called Large Language Models from a certified third-party provider (AWS Bedrock). It is therefore an AI system with language processing capabilities of only a low or limited degree of risk.

    This means, when you communicate with mobee, you are communicating with an AI and not with a real person. If you would like to contact a member of our customer service team instead, please click here.

    The mobile.de AI assistant does not access your account data and therefore cannot answer any questions about your account or My Car Park.

    The information you enter is transmitted to our service provider for the purpose of processing your request, but the service provider does not have any access to your customer account data. The service provider does not use your conversation data to train its model.

  2. What do I need to consider?

    Please do not enter any sensitive information or personal data in the input mask of our AI assistant! The mobile.de AI assistant is not intended to receive or process such personal data.

    The purpose of this AI is the automated provision of information about our products and services as described above based on the respective request as well as support for requests through text-based conversation. The mobile.de AI assistant is not intended to answer questions on regulatory, legal, financial, medical or other similar topics. Even if automated decision-making takes place when answering your request, this does not have any legal, financial or other detrimental effect on you.

    The content provided by mobee in the form of our advertisements is purely informative and based on your request. The AI assistant relies on pre-programmed answers and machine learning to provide such support. Although we strive to provide accurate and helpful information, the AI Assistant responses may be incorrect, incomplete, inaccurate or out of date. They do not reflect the opinion of mobile.de GmbH and do not constitute binding information. The use of the AI assistant is therefore at your own risk and does not replace individual advice from qualified specialists. Please check the results carefully and compare them with other sources or seek expert advice before making any relevant decisions yourself.

  3. Data protection information

    mobee is not intended to process your personal data and has no connection to your mobile.de account, so it cannot access your personal data stored with us as a mobile.de user.

    The processing of data in connection with the use of our AI assistant is carried out to pursue our legitimate interests in improved, automated customer service (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR), provided that your interests or fundamental rights and freedoms do not prevail. In order to reconcile our interests with your rights, we have implemented appropriate control mechanisms.

    When using our AI assistant, the data you enter yourself (e.g. search requests) in particular is processed. Your entries are initially linked to a session ID, which is deleted when a new conversation is started or after 12 hours at the latest, so that the conversation can no longer be assigned to your session ID. The processing of the data entered by you serves our legitimate interest in being able to answer your inquiries and display you advertisements as well as to be able to make your conversation available for a limited period of time.

    In addition, we process the data you enter based on our legitimate interest in analyzing and improving our services and to continuously improve our AI assistant and its answers for you. This analysis is carried out anonymously, i.e. without linking it to a session ID.

    Automated decision-making within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR does not take place when using the AI assistant.

    In principle, and unless we are obliged to store it for longer, we will only store your personal data to the extent and for as long as necessary for the aforementioned processing purposes; we will then delete your personal data in accordance with our data retention and deletion guidelines or take measures to properly anonymize the data. You can access the conversation with mobee for up to twelve hours, unless you start a new conversation with mobee within this time. This means that your conversation will always be deleted after twelve hours. Beyond that, the conversation data is only stored in anonymized form for the purpose of analysis.

    Your data is stored and processed within the EU and is not transferred to so-called unsafe third countries.
