There are some key takeaways on e-mobility market development:
- Following a period of growth, 2023 brought challenges that have slowed e-mobility's progress in Germany, leading to a temporary plateau. The used electric car market, however, continues to show stronger development in both supply and demand compared to new electric cars.
- EV demand remains restrained by price sensitivity and the end of government subsidies. After initial sales spikes, new EV registrations fell by 16% in early 2024 compared to 2023. In July 2024, used EV prices dropped by 15% year-over-year to an average of €36,479, still above the €30,000 price point consumers target.
While consumers remain hesitant about larger investments due to price pressures and market changes, dealers are optimistic.

We demonstrate our pursuit of sustainability not only through our products but also by fostering a work environment that encourages sustainable practices. We promote greener choices at both the company and personal levels while actively raising awareness about environmental issues among our employees.
Our path starts by acknowledging our impact and taking steps to address it.
As a tech company, the majority of our emissions fall under Scope 3. Recognising the responsibility to address this, we place our focus on emissions reduction initiatives.
Since 2019, we have been funding environmental projects to offset emissions we cannot yet directly reduce, taking more responsibility for our carbon footprint.
Recognising that carbon offsetting is an interim measure, we try to focus on better managing our emissions and aim to rely less on offsets over time.
We’ve partnered with MyClimate to invest in projects that address both environmental concerns and support social and economic objectives, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
To offset our GHG emissions from 2023 we invested in:
- Transforming waste into biogas in Vietnam. This project combats climate change and provides clean energy by building biogas plants in rural Vietnam, helping farmers save money, improve health, and protect the environment.
- Reducing emissions in Bangladesh and India with efficient cook stoves. This project installs improved cooking stoves in Bangladesh, reducing indoor air pollution, CO₂ emissions, and deforestation while protecting biodiversity.

The Climate Fresk Workshop is an engaging, in-person workshop that uses gamification and collaborative learning to deepen your understanding of climate change and sustainability.
Leaders For Climate Action community
- As members of the Leaders for Climate Action (LFCA) community, we actively contribute to raising climate awareness by promoting initiatives such as LFCA’s Earth Week campaign in 2023, helping to expand their impact.
- This membership also grants us access to educational sustainability content and courses, equipping us with valuable resources to enhance our efforts.
- Additionally, we collaborate with and support other organisations in their sustainability journeys, fostering collective progress toward a more sustainable future.
Corporate Engagement
The leadership team at mobile.de has made vegetarian and vegan options the default for all catering, reflecting our focus on promoting more sustainable practices.
Additionally, we have implemented a no-flight policy for inland travel, with rare exceptions, to furtherhelp reduce our business travel emissions.
