The European VAT Registration Number in Germany (abbreviated as USt-IdNr.) serves as a clear identification of companies for European business correspondence purposes. You are only entitled to issue or remit the VAT amount from other companies in the EU if you have such a number. If you do not have a European VAT Registration Number yet, you can obtain one from your local tax office. Your local tax advisor will be able to provide you with contact details.
